The Drama Queen and the Bee
Poor Maddie. Just minding her own business Saturday after we grabbed some hamburgers downtown. Of course we couldn't leave without hitting the Sno Cone stand. So there Maddie was, thoroughly engrossed in her strawberry Sno Cone, fatefully wearing a flower shirt and standing on a puddle of syrup swarmed by bees. When she let out one of her ear-piercing screams, we thought she might be just being dramatic, but the removal of not one but two stingers from her body proved otherwise. Poor Maddie. The whole way home she kept saying, "Take me to the hospital!" At least we know for Maddie, the redeeming part of injuries is attention, so the timing couldn't have been more perfect with church coming up. Here she is practicing modeling bee sting #1.

And re-enacting it. Quite convincing! (Sting #2 is on her back, but we think she forgot about it.)

Two days later she tells us it "still hurts!" so if you see her, prepare yourself for the cutest and saddest little story you've ever heard . :)

Ohhh! Poor Maddie! Bee stings are never a fun thing. I guess she thinks the hospital is the place to go for ouchies. Tell her we are sending her a kiss for her stings.
I think I cried when I first got stung by a bee--and I was seven! I love that she wanted to go to the hospital! Such a sad slash funny story! (That is the cutest shirt she has on by the way!)
Sneeky bees, hanging out by the sno cone place was a cheap shot. I feel really bad for her, but I am glad that they love band aids so much that just a little help from the band aid box seems to help out the most.
I do find it so amusing that she was ready, willing, and asking to be checked into the hospital. Your girls are a real crack up.
break my heart. oh maddie. i love the way she tells the story.
