Memorial Day
Monday we got the whole crew together for a boat excursion on Lake Austin. Ryan has been talking about buying a boat ever since we moved here, and after renting this baby for three hours, I think I'm on board. Maybe someday!
Yes, we attempted this with four kids under four! As expected, the boat's fast speed thwarted the toddlers' plans to jump out of the boat every few minutes.
Heather and I were first to try out the tube. Warning: this does not allow for holding on with both hands!
Just watch us try to stay on! They lost us around the very first corner.
London and Maddie apparently decided to switch personalities that day. London suddenly became adventurous and obsessed with having a turn on the tube...
While Maddie wanted off the entire time.
Back on board and eating chips with Aunt Heather, life is good.
Ryan shows us how it's done. I was so busy taking pictures of my dare devil I didn't realize he was motioning to slow down! We all have bruises from some pretty good wipeouts, but nothing a little excedrin can't fix. Back at home, the girls actually took a nap and stopped asking to go swimming. I guess they'd had their water fix for the day! I'd say boating was a success for that alone. I hope we go back soon.

I had so much fun, and even though Gwen didn't enjoy the tube so much she is still asking to ride on the boat everyday. I guess that means that we really do need to do it again soon.
I am glad to say that we came out with only James sporting a sunburn and a few aches the next day, I am glad to hear that you are all still alive too.
I loved seeing you and Heather on the tube together, you made it look easy. I guess that I should have had an extra rider with me, or a different driver, just kidding Ryan.
Let me know when you are feeling up for a repeat, or even just a little trip to the pool, you know that I am up for anything after that water adventure.
what lovely pictures of me!
That was SO much fun, especially-- finding out the hard way that it's a one-man tube and London falling asleep in the cheetos.
Thanks for letting me be a Barlow for the day!
That looks like such fun! We MUST do that when we come visit again! What a great way to spend Memorial day.....we had hail and rain!
Yeah! I am so glad that you found my blog!!! I saw your parents today at Timpveiw graduation and I almost asked how to contact you! Your kids are darling and I'm excited that you are having another! when is it due? how are you liking Austin? How much longer will you be there? We'll finally be moving this summer out to TN. I'm kinda excited to get away for awhile, although I do love Utah.
My favorite part of this was reading L&M switched personalities for a day! Who would have thought? And you are so brave to go on the tube--once I had a headache for a week after a tube adventure.
Looks like you all had a lot of fun. Feel free to post more pictures for us to look at.
