Cupcake Toes
So my doctor took me completely off sugar! We're not talking cutting back on the occasional dessert as I had previously thought. We are talking eliminate each and every form of anything that resembles, contains or mimics sugar, including fruit. My initial reaction was pretty much, 'be merciful, say death,' as I thought surely this was some kind of joke, but alas.
In the beginning, I received some solid advice from a health mentor and it is this: Life is sweeter than sugar.
Words to live by, literally. So I've spent the past 14.5 weeks trying to look for moments to replace what would originally be a dessert of the sugar coma variety. And here is today's:

just learned to scrunch her nose

first pedicure while everyone else was napping. just me and my livvy and her sweet cupcake toes.
Ok readers it's your turn...

I didn't know it was possible to cut ALL sugar. How do you get the right nutrients if you can't eat fruit? Well, that water (post below this one) looks a lot sweeter than sugar right now. I will try and think of some things for you.
I should have mentioned fruit was just the first month. I can have most fruit now...who cares about fruit when you can't have chocolate!
Grandchildren kisses and hugs are sweeter than sugar also the relationships I have with my children....born and by marriage is sweeter than sugar! Seeing, hearing, touching....
Well... here are a few things that get me through the day:
-teaching a parrot to lisp
-getting birthday cards from two of my favorite sisters in Texas (THANK YOU!)
-BINOCULARS
-Finding strange friends with a similarly odd sense of humor (remarkable that I have ever found ANYONE with a similar sense of humor.)
-Having the best mom ever (it doesn't hurt that she completely understands abstract health problems and puts up with profuse complaining)
-Reading/hearing/thinking about the resurrection when our bodies will be perfect and knowing that it WILL come
-Remembering those times when AJ would call from Bulgaria but we couldn't understand him because he forgot how to speak English.
-Thank you cards
-President Monson
-Mastering the lateral lisp
-School supplies (I love them so much!)
-3 sisters
-3 nieces
-Reading your blog
-Jocelyn (That was me signing my name NOT adding myself to the list!)
I am sorry Leslie, but I am stumped...everything I think of has sugar! I must have a problem. Maybe I should try a no sugar thing to get more balanced. :-)
Although when my boys actually hold still and let me cuddle them, that is pretty sweet.
Hugs from my sweeties are sweeter than sugar!
Hmmm well you know that anytime the kids are napping that is a little slice of sweetness, as well as seeing them play together nicely.
I love it when James thinks of little surprises for me, naturally I am selfish you know.
A new and fantastic haircut, or anything that is new that has to do with clothing, and even better if it was on sale.
Hearing Gwen say her prayers, makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time so cute...
And getting together with family and friends sure sounds pretty sweet.
