How Do I Love Jocelyn?

19. I think she wakes up every morning and says, today will be an adventure.

18. Has the most gorgeous shade of hair in the entire world, breathtaking blue eyes, and will forever claim the title of Ariel in the twins' mind.

17. Last summer I was pregnant with Olivia, potty training the twins with a husband in school and a heat wave in Texas, she generously swooped in and applied her Supergirl organization skills in helping us move into our house.

16. Seems to have inside jokes with everyone on the planet.

15. The most dedicated student EVER. Seriously, the amount of homework and projects she takes on is unreal, but she follows through with every commitment she has ever made.

16. A sweet tooth through and through, but as worst nightmares sometimes come to pass, has joined me in eliminating that fair weathered friend sugar from her diet.

15. A trader of embarrassing moments.

14. Wisdom beyond her years, heck, wisdom beyond my years.

13. Has joined me in the crusade to eliminate technology from our lives, the only problem being, said feat cannot be accomplished without the use of technology.

12. Is a girl of profound integrity.

11. Has mastered the 'lateral lisp' even giving me lessons so we can be sisters with lisps and abstract health problems.

10. The girl with the killer sense of style; always put together, always effortless.

9. Has forgiven me for the time when at age two, a lapse in MY supervision led to one of the most interesting slash short haircuts of her entire life.

8. Continues to apologize profusely to this day for, during the same year, putting lipstick on my white cat and throwing him over the banister (don't worry, he lived).

7. "We love it when she colors with us." (L & M)

6. Injects enthusiasm and laughter into the most grim situations, for instance, a move in a heat wave while you're eight months pregnant and you find this under London's bed.

5. A genius at accessorizing. Not only do her snazzy toesocks, unique-flavored gum and lipgloss and jewlery show personality, but they never fail to brighten anyone's day.

4. Even with some pretty substantial health problems, never lets anything get in the way of living A Good Life, of which feat I think she should write a bestselling self-help book.

3. Is always careful to make sure she puts people in the best light, especially behind their back.

2. Taught me the Primary song that names all the Prophets in order, because it wasn't written yet when I was in Primary.

1. Since the day our doctor pronounced 'twins,' she has dedicated her life to aunt hood of our posterity, a calling she takes very seriously.

Ever since the day she was born and I hopped my nine-year old self around the neighborhood and announced -door to door- at eight in the am that I had a new sister with red hair and blue eyes with a striking resemblance to Ariel, I have been proud to call her sister. A very happy birthday darling Jocelyn...I hope your wish of being a teenage bride comes true this year! :)

LESLIE! Teenage bride my foot!!! If any boys come near me this year, I hope they brace themselves for DECAPITATION! That's all that I'm saying. Other than that, thank you so much for all of the sweet things and wonderful memories you mentioned (who cares that I cut my own hair off when I was two? What if it had happened when I was 20? totally more awkward...) I may look like Ariel but there's this thing called modesty my roommates keep trying to teach me about (I have a hard time understanding) but apparently you're not supposed to wear only sea-shell bras on campus (If I had known that I may have chosen a different school to go to...)Even so, I enjoy being an Ariel look-alike. Moving into your house was fun. You know I love organizing. :) On Tuesday, I "discovered" somebody in one of my classes that can lateral lisp (made my day!). Someday we will teach the girls (hopefully they inherit your wonderful sense of humor). Thank you so much for caring about me and making my birthday great! I love you! Tell L,M, 'n O hello from auntie J and give them a hug from me!
-Jocelyn

Joc taught ME the prophets song too! I had to learn them for one of my religion classes at BYU and the night before the big test we sang it over and over. We threw songs "clicks" in there too to spice it up. "Latter day prophets are (click) number one...." AHHAAHAHA. I love Jocelyn Marie Davis!!!
