Derailed!
Once upon a time, Ryan and I found a cute white crib for our little twins to share. One year later, due to a Maddie's cornea having to be treated for London's fingernail scratch (ewwww, I know!) we bought an identical one. These cribs were appealing not only for their cuteness, but for how practical they were in converting to toddler beds, someday in the WAY distant future. The blink of an eye later, here we are. Ryan actually had to surprise me with this, because I have been putting it off for MONTHS. (Our girls are not big enough for toddler beds!) However, it has inspired me to finally get the finishing touches on the twins' garden ballerina inspired bedroom. So far, the result has been good! The girls usually stay in their beds when they're supposed to. Maddie will even go lie down in her bed and wait for me to tuck her in when I tell her it's naptime. I guess it wasn't as hard as I had anticipated. Let's hope I can say the same for potty training.

Next step: bunkbeds!

The beds look really nice without the rails. If they fall out of bed alot, just nail a rail down by the mattress. They can get in and out, but don't roll over it. It is hard to believe they are old enough to be out cribs, but eventually everybody grows up wether we want to or not!
Love,

I can't even foresee that event in our lives, but I know I'll be saying the same thing as you in a year or so. Crazy! Your girls are so darling! (And so is their room, BTW) :)
I am glad that they stay in them for sleeping I know that I caught them not staying in them for a double duty of time out. The room really looks great. I was thinking that if you wanted them to continue in training for wrestling all you have to do is push the beds together and you have a padded cage. Now that sounds like a genius plan. We should have tried it out while I was there,Gwen could have been great practice.
First, your nursery is darling, second I love that your cribs are now day beds. If only my mom would have thought of that I wouldn't have bugged her for so long.
