Earth Day
My emerald girl is waiting for me. Throttling like an F-16. I strap in...and let her fly.

In the summer of 2002 Ryan got on one knee and put a ring on my finger. It wasn't the traditional wedding ring I currently sport, but rather a temporary drawn-on Green Lantern ring. I was told depending on the skill and willpower of the wearer, the ring can grant considerable powers. Some say it can do almost anything. Newly engaged, I took on my responsibility with great solemnity. And in my seven-year journey with Ryan the ring has fulfilled its duties beyond my young starry-eyed expectations.
Four days ago, finally back from Utah, we were greeted with Supergirl capes; among other things, one very anxious Ryan. Baby Liv hit the jackpot with an actual Green Lantern onesie. In the right light, it appears she is thoughtfully constructing a plan to take over the world. Perhaps the outfit was the last item to collect before successfully doing so.

And for the birthday lady? A camera, simply wrapped, melted my heart almost as immediately as the flowers it was presented with. I took this picture, then a hundred more of people and things through new eyes. I will always remember how vibrant the day was, in every chair at my kitchen table sat someone I love.

While in Utah, my health took a downward spiral. Symptoms that had become bothersome for the past year suddenly became alarming. I took a chance and brought my symptoms to yet another doctor. He had suspicions....a blood test confirmed. It appears I have work to do.
Someday I will write more about this.
In the meantime I take pictures of my pink Supergirls...and wait.
Drawing on my own superpowers I will begin to heal.

I don't think enough credit is given to superpowers! Go girl! Love the pictures, thank you getting married, your marriage started my own journey, so I thank you. I'm glad your birthday turned into a moment in your memory. Happy Birthday Leslie!

I am glad you have Green Lantern powers to help you get better! plus many people who love you....how can you possibly fail?? I am glad you had a happy birthday!
Welcome home!!! I am glad that you are back safe and sound. I was sure that Ryan's head might explode due to so much time in front of the t.v. while you were away, but I see that you saved him just in time, it must be the superpowers.
I love that you were showered with gifts and flowers to bring you home, and toting extra family as well, how fun for you and your kids to have an extra friend for awhile.
I also see that we are not as unique as I thought, you see we also were given capes and green lantern gear, but ours were on Easter, I see now that was not possible for you since you were in Utah. Well now all the kids can play together in capes, and princess dresses. As for your new found love of the D40 let me know how you like it, that was my birthday gift too, I suppose that you could say that great minds think alike, or something along the lines of brainstorming buddies.
I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, I hope that you figure something out that works. At least you are surrounded with people that are waiting to help and aid you along the way. You know it never hurts to have superpowers for times such as these so it is a good thing that you are so prepared.
I'm so sorry to hear that you're not doing well, I hope things get better! You are in our prayers! *hugz*
Oh dear Les! I miss you so much! As well as the girls! However, I'm glad to see that you're happy and home and that Ryan didn't burn the house down or anything drastic when you "abandoned" him. As much as I would love some super powers, sometimes things have to be done the Batman way: using your brain to save the world. I've always admired you for your intelligence. You can make it through this! But, if you need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to call! I love you sister. And Happy Birthday. I'm excited you got a new camera and those flowers are beautiful. You and all the superheroes have fun now.

Your sweet little Liv is so precious. I hope you get feeling better. It is hard to be super mom when things get in the way. Good luck.
Liv = Love.
Not one baby is cuter.
Call me after Monday at 2 PM!
I love you Les.
