What We're Expecting

Look what light reading made its way to L & M's collection....:)

So imagine our surprise when the doctor told us he won't even try to stop our little one from coming after 36 weeks. Yes folks that is this Friday! Almost immediately from the doctor's office we hit Home Depot and found this little number in Island Sand. The glossy gold we were aiming for? We will see once daylight hits...

(Have you been working out?)

Hopefully it matches these little elephants.

We are thinking Singletonette can hold out until at least mid-October when we will have both grandmas for reinforcement....

Are we there yet?!?

Out with the Old...

Thank heavens for Aunt Jocelyn, who came to help us with the move. This girl is a bundle of energy and a lifesaver, and we couldn't have survived half a day without her.

Look closely at this bag...we found it under London's bed! It about sums up my feelings for our old apartment!

I keep thinking I'll post pics of the new house...when it's clean and unpacked. We haven't gotten there yet! Here is one picture of part of the family room, cutting out all the mess. :)

(Why is Care Bear in time out? According to L & M, he was 'bothering the turtle.')

Our washer and dryer, a full four days late, but here! Four days doesn't sound like a lot until you are hand-washing poopy princess underwear in the sink....So far this is the only upgrade we have done to the house, at least until 2009.

The girls and I keep finding spiders! I am barely brave enough to catch them, but not kill them! So they sit in jars around the house. I keep looking up pictures of brown recluses to compare, but who knows? Unfortunately L & M have started to make friends with the poor things, thinking of them somewhat as pets. Here they are singing'the itsy bitsy spider' to our latest victim.

We spent an entire day on campus at 'daddy's school.' The girls loved it! I was surprised at how much we stood out as literally, the only 2.5 kids on campus. Compare that to BYU and Utah State where people come to class with strollers and newborns in tow...We had a fun day and the girls especially loved the turtle pond.

We have taken up visiting Pflugerville Lake as a family activity as we are only a couple of minutes away. We are anxious to get a canoe and also (Ryan) starting to run around the lake. It is a 3-mile run and is gorgeous. The girls like to scope out all the dogs, all sopping wet!

Brush with the Law (Utah Trip-August)

L & M's hooligan activities finally caught up with them as they were taken downtown and booked for a day in court with Grandpa (who couldn't have been more excited).

After a quick trip to every floor in the building to be introduced to judges, lawyers, and clerks alike, grandpa took our partners in crime for a quick tour of his courtroom.

Trying on the robe and gavel for size...

As you can see, L & M quickly made themselves at home on the bench.

And charmed their way out of spending any more time in court, despite all their recent shenanigans. Thanks for inviting us, Dad, we had a blast!

Clearfield Reunion

During our trip to Utah our neighborhood friends planned a BBQ for us! It was a blast to get caught up with everyone, not to mention spy on our old house. Apparently the single guy who lives there now has in no way replaced the fun level of the Barlow fam. I was so homesick for Utah after this day, as these neighbors were like family to us. Where else are you going to find friends with the exact same porch swing?

Cute girls! L-R: Chloe, Madelyn, Allie, London, Mia.

The boys activities, in their usual spirit of competition, somehow came to Ryan scaling (not to mention blending in with) the neighbors tree.

Why is it when you put our husbands together they always end up doing something dangerous....

Ok everyone smile and look at your own camera! L-R: Katie, me, Madeline, Erin, Julie, Becca and the lovely porch swing
Since January alone I think we have added 3 babies to the mix! I miss these girls for their multi-tasking abilities...the way we could put all 25 of our kids together in the same room and still hold on a decent conversation. Not to mention the girls nights. Thanks for the BBQ, it was so fun to get caught up!

Elder Davis Returns

Is it just me or has he grown a couple of inches AT LEAST?

The main purpose for our visit to Utah was to welcome home my favorite, my only brother from his mission to Bulgaria. It was neat to hear about his experiences, combined with my parents' as they were able to spend a few days in Europe picking him up.

The week was laden with festivities, such as Davis waterfall musical chairs...

the chicken dance, the bunny hop. Unfortunately for me I can no longer bunny hop!

This was supposed to be a cute pic of me and Ryan but ended up being mostly Singleton, with a creepy baby doll face poking out of the background. Also in the background, my cousin William who we are welcoming home from Brazil!

The girls quickly got to work wearing Uncle A.J. out...

And picking 3/4 of grandma's flowers. We had a great, though jam-packed visit to Utah and were glad to be able to celebrate!

Mt. Pleasant Visit

We were lucky to spend two days in Mount Pleasant with Ryan's parents. The girls absolutely loved some of the recent changes in the basement, including a little kitchen and all sorts of things to swing from and climb.

Shortly after arriving, L & M launched into a 12-hour vomit fest! It was not pretty! I am so grateful for Syl, who between catching bucketfuls of vomit left and right, allowed Ryan and me to catch up on sleep, go on a date (Roger's Dairy Freeze, a staple in any Mount Pleasant visit), and recover from our exhausting flight and week. Ryan was still trying to get some work done, prepare for school, also while we finalized signatures to close on the house. Needless to say, it was not a great time to travel, but I was so glad we did it as we have missed our family dearly. I think my favorite part of the trip, even though it was in the midst of vomit, was watching the Olympics with Ryan's parents!

The girls with Papa Barlow! They really loved singing with him all the songs they have been working on.

And nursed back to health, the girls are back to their usual amount of energy, oh and Ryan and me too. We were so blessed to have a couple of days to take a breath and prepare for the stressful events waiting for us at home in Texas!
